What to bring?
For the students of the summer courses 2020.
Here is the list of materials. But do feel free to bring materials that you normally use!
Photographs
Experience has shown us that most people prefer to use their own pictures. The photographs must satisfy a number of requirements: it is advisable to use simple lighting. Preferably indoors. The subject should be positioned diagonally opposite to a window. When using artificial light it is important that the tone of the photo is not too yellow or too purple and not too pale. Preferably no ‘flash snaps.’
The prints must have the format in which it is going to be painted, at least A4 size. Very important: the print must be of good quality: GLOSSY PAPER. If the size is a problem, then it is a good idea to get a black and white enlargement from the copyshop.
Note: You must bring 4 different photos (4 different portraits).
In the course we will use the tracing method to transfer the drawing on the canvas. Please look carefully at the first part of this video: https://youtu.be/NfTSHecqjOk
